Easter 2016

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating the hope we have in what Jesus did for us on the cross and through his Resurrection. The kids and I read our usual Easter books, we used our Resurrection Eggs to tell the Biblical Easter story, we made Oschter Foggel (Easter birds made from eggs), watched Mrs. Patty Cakes Easter Egg-stravaganza, and made Resurrection rolls and hot cross buns. On Easter morning the kids looked through their baskets and we had resurrection rolls and fruit for breakfast. We went to church and after the service our church had a huge Easter Egg Hunt at one of our pastor’s homes. There were hundreds of eggs and all of the kids got lots. Julianne, Lorelei, and Morgan understood how to do an egg hunt and filled their baskets. Nolan, on the other hand, was satisfied to get a couple of eggs in his basket and take out the candy that was in them and eat them right away. I tried to encourage him to get more eggs, but he would have nothing to do with it. Later when he realized that all his candy was gone from his three eggs, he went around and pawned candy off of the other kids who felt sorry for him. I’m not exactly sure how much candy he consumed, but every time I saw him he had a new piece of candy. We enjoyed lunch with our church family and then went home for the little kids to take naps. That evening we went to our friend, Ms. June’s, house and had dinner and another egg hunt. Oraleigh went along with all that we did and ate and slept as normal. She seemed to enjoy her first Easter.
