Morgan - 2 Months

Morgan is two months old today, so we went to the pediatrician for his two month well check. His doctor said that he looked great and was perfectly healthy. His stats were as follows: Length - 24 in.(75%), Weight - 11 lbs, 9 oz.(50%). He got one oral vaccine and two shots. This round of vaccines seemed a little harder for his body to tolerate. This afternoon he cried off an on through his nap and then seemed exhausted when I got him up. Once I fed him, he slept for an hour and a half while I held him. He also ran a low grade fever. He was pretty pitiful, but hopefully he'll feel better in the morning after a good night's sleep.

Speaking of sleep, up until a week and half ago Morgan had been going anywhere from 5-7 hours between his first nighttime feeding. One night he even went 9.5 hours. About a week and a half ago I'm convinced he must have been going through a growth spurt because he was up ever 3-4 hours at night. Just in the last couple of days he's begun spreading his nighttime feedings out again. I really have nothing to complain about, though, because he always goes right back to sleep after feedings and often sleeps in until 8 or 9 o'clock. He also has been taking a good morning nap and a good afternoon nap (usually 2-3 hours) with little cat naps in between. He has been such a wonderful sleeper. As he's gotten into this sleep schedule, he has gotten so much happier during his awake time. He regularly smiles at us and is quite chatty at times. Last week I caught his coo's on video and just thought I'd take a quick video of his sounds, but the video ended up lasting more than five minutes and he continued to "talk" after I shut it off.

I've said several times that Morgan doesn't seem to understand that he's only 8 weeks old, because he is just not content being held in a reclined position. His favorite position is being held in a standing position with his feet on a hard surface. He's still pretty wobbly in this position, but he is completely content this way. He enjoys tummy time, but has gotten pretty good at rolling over from his tummy to his back, so tummy time doesn't usually last very long unless we sit there and flip him back over to his tummy each time he turns over. He's started liking "playing" in a bouncy seat, but he really prefers to watch people rather than the moving toys on the bouncy seat. He especially loves to watch his sisters who regularly entertain him with their antics. He is such a blessing to our family and we are so thankful that God gave him to us.
