Strawberry Picking 2012

At the end of last week we went to Joe Huber's Farm with our friends, Mrs. Kim, Eli, and Kinley to pick strawberries. We took a wagon ride out to the strawberry fields and started picking the juicy red, delicious smelling strawberries. Lorelei picked one strawberry and immediately exclaimed, "I all done." She wasn't kidding either, and spend the rest of the time tasting the strawberries we had picked. I found out later once we were home and I was washing the strawberries that she had put the half eaten strawberries and leftover stems back into the box of strawberries we paid for. Julianne, on the other hand, was a very hard worker and picked strawberries for about 45 minutes. She probably ate as many strawberries as she picked, but she almost picked enough strawberries to fill the bottom of the box. Morgan rode around in the Moby Wrap, which I wore, and was less than thrilled about all the squatting I had to do to pick the strawberries, so I ended up being a not-so-productive strawberry picker, although together we picked about 6 pounds of strawberries. After strawberry picking, we enjoyed a picnic lunch by the lake. The kids loved seeing the ducks, turtles, and snakes in the lake. It was a gorgeous day and we all had a fun time.
