Julianne - one month

It is hard to believe but Julianne's first month of life outside the womb has passed already. Yesterday she turned one month and also got to go to the doctor. Her pediatrician said she is very healthy and was very impressed with her weight gain. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. She is definitely growing! She still is in the 10th percentile for her weight, but was in the 25th percentile for her height. Julianne is now sleeping anywhere from 3 to 5 hours at a time at night. Last night she actually slept 5.5 hours. The extra sleep has been wonderful for me especially. She is beginning to make other noises than just crying and I am beginning to distinguish between her cries. We try to spend some time every day playing on a blanket on the floor and she seems to like knocking over her soft blocks. I'm not exactly sure if she is intending to knock the blocks over or if her flailing arms just happen to hit them. Either way it is pretty fun to watch her. There have been a couple of times that she has turned herself over from her stomach to her back but she is not doing this consistently. She is gaining much better control of her little head and loves to look around at her surroundings. So far Julianne has been such a blessing to us. We thank God every day that He put her in our lives to love!
