A Day in the Life of Julianne

One day a couple of weeks ago I kept a written record of what Julianne did all day in order to help me remember for future purposes what she was like at three years old. I am so forgetful! Here is a glimpse of my findings.

6:45 a.m. - Woke up with the help of Lorelei

7:15 a.m - Played in the bathroom while daddy took his shower; While I was downstairs she yelled, "I like daddy's paisley shorts(boxers.)" and to make sure I heard she yelled, "Did you hear me?"

8:00 a.m. - After seeing daddy off to work she said, "You need to email Ms. Amanda." I had told her I needed to do this about an hour before and she remembered before I did. She has such a great memory!

8:10 a.m. - Got dressed by herself and picked out Lorelei's clothes - Julianne picks out her clothes almost every day and does a pretty good job matching them. She almost always picks out a dress to wear and typically puts her shoes on the wrong feet. She usually puts her pajamas in the laundry basket, but today she put them behind the bathroom door. When I asked her why she did that she said, "Because daddy does it."

8:15 a.m. - Ate breakfast of english muffin with peanut butter, watermelon, and orange juice - Her prayer before eating went like this: "Thank you God for the food and please help us to sleep well tonight. Bless this food. Help Ainsley to calm down. Amen."

8:40 a.m. - Finished breakfast, threw away the trash on her plate, put cup and plate in the sink, and washed her hands and face in the bathroom; Fed Abby

9:00 -10:30 a.m. - School - During school time we learn a Bible story, work on a number and a letter, read a book, do our calendar activity, sing songs, memorize a Bible verse, and play games

11:00 a.m. - Library storytime - Generally she will only sit with me, but today she actually sat with the other kids and participated in the songs and activities.

12:20 p.m. - Field trip to the pet store - Since we had been learning about God creating the animals we went and looked at different animals at a local pet store. She was particularly drawn to the kittens and rats. We also went to a little consignment shop and Julianne kept pointing out things that she liked saying, "I like this outfit. This is nice. I might need this." The girl loves to shop!

1:00 p.m. - Ate a lunch of cheese, crackers, banana, and carrot sticks

1:40 p.m. - Rest time in daddy and mommy's bed - She looked at books and played with her baby doll.

4:00 p.m. - Playtime in her room - Julianne read her Bible to her baby, used the nasal aspirator on her (she said, "I go the boogies out. Boogies are really gross.), and then rocked her sister in her rocking chair. Julianne loves making Lorelei laugh by tickling her and just acting silly.

5:20 p.m. - Played independently while mommy made dinner - Julianne is such an independent little girl and could play for hours by herself.

6:00 p.m. - At a dinner of a hot dog, 2 slices of watermelon, cauliflower and broccoli

6:45 p.m. - Went on a walk - Julianne is always saying, "I want to go on a long walk."

7:30 p.m. - Bath time - She washed herself independently and had some help washing her hair

8:00 p.m. - Bed time - Daddy read a Bible story and prayed with her then she wanted mommy to rock her - Such a sweet ending to a day with the sweetest three year old around!
