Lorelei - 1 Month

Lorelei turned one month old last Thursday and yesterday (Monday) we went to her pediatrician for her one month check up. She is growing like a weed. Her stats were as follows: Weight: 9 lbs (40th percentile), Height: 21.5 in. (55th percentile), Head Circumference: 14.5 in. (40th percentile). Everything looked great and she even got a shot and did well.

As a one month old Lorelei continues to eat and sleep well. She eats every 2-3 hours (although it's closer to 2 hours - she loves her food!) during the day. She has her last daytime feeding at 8:30 p.m. and then wakes up at around 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. then is usually up for the day by 7 a.m. She usually goes right back to sleep after each feeding, which has been a wonderful gift since I can go right back to sleep too! During the day sleep has been less predictable. She usually takes one solid nap in the bassinet and then takes smaller naps either in the swing, car seat, or in someone's arms. Unfortunately, her good naps are usually in the morning, which doesn't allow for her and Julianne's naps to line up in the afternoon, which doesn't allow me to get a nap most days. She is a pretty happy baby most of the time, although she has been kind of fussy most evenings. Usually swaddling her or putting her in the swing will make her happier. She continues to spit up quite a bit. It doesn't seem to cause her much frustration, but it greatly frustrates her parents who seem to always smell like sour milk and have spots all over their clothes. We have noticed a couple of smiles from our sweet girl, but this isn't a regular thing yet. She still loves to push off surfaces with her feet and legs and gets frustrated by just sitting or laying down. Several times I've laid her down on a blanket and when I come back she has moved ninety degrees. She's definitely a mover! Here are some pictures of our sweet one month old girl.
