Pictures
While we were in St. Louis we got some pictures taken at our favorite portrait studio, Portrait Innovations. Here are the best ones.
Lorelei's First Trip to St. Louis
This past weekend we took our first trip to St. Louis as a family of four. Lorelei did wonderfully during the four and a half hour car ride. She slept almost the entire way, which was not great for her sleeping schedule, but great for the time on the road. Poor Julianne starting running a fever as we were on the road and was really congested, so she just kept saying, "I want to sleep in my bed at Papa and Gigi's house" and "Mommy hold me." It was hard to explain to her that neither of these were possible until we got to St. Louis.

Valentine's Tea Party
Even though it is a couple of days until Valentine's Day, we've been celebrating in "school" all week. We have been learning that since God loves us we should love others. One day we completed a writing activity in which we completed the phrase, "I can love others by...". With no help from me, other than writing down her responses, Julianne came up with this list: "washing dishes", "giving them ice cream", "giving them hot dogs", "giving them books", sharing baby dolls with them", and "giving them a band aid when they get hurt".
Snow
The past several weeks Julianne and I have been completing a unit on snow. It has been quite appropriate since we've had three or four major snowfalls in the past three weeks. We're currently dealing with about 7 inches of snow on the ground and to tell you the truth we're looking forward to spring and the opportunity to play outside a bit more.

More Wedding Pictures
We recently received the photographer's pictures from the wedding we were a part of in December, so here are some pictures of our sweet flower girl and several other pictures too.
A visit fom the Faulkners
This past weekend our newly married friends, Chip and Claire Faulkner, came for a short visit. They are on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ in New Zealand and came back to the states to get married and raise support. We were in their wedding back in December and I've known Claire since second grade, so it was a really special time getting to know Chip better. We had a great time playing Boggle, eating, hanging out, talking, eating a little more, and watching some Arrested Development. Since we enjoy eating we took them to several of our favorite eateries.
Lorelei - 1 Month
Lorelei turned one month old last Thursday and yesterday (Monday) we went to her pediatrician for her one month check up. She is growing like a weed. Her stats were as follows: Weight: 9 lbs (40th percentile), Height: 21.5 in. (55th percentile), Head Circumference: 14.5 in. (40th percentile). Everything looked great and she even got a shot and did well.
Sweet Sister Moment
Tonight both girls were being a little whiny and fussy. I needed to give Lorelei (aka "the spit up child") a bath to get rid of her sour milk smell, so I told Julianne she could help me in order to distract her from her current temper tantrum. Lorelei has not been a fan of baths so far, so I was looking forward to some screaming (on her behalf, not mine). Julianne wanted to get in the bathtub too, so I let her, hoping that her mood would improve. I held Lorelei in the tub and Julianne helped wash her off and pour water over her. Lorelei loved it.
Three Weeks Old
Lorelei is officially three weeks old today. In some ways this time has gone so fast, but in many ways it seems like we've had her in our family for a lot longer. Perhaps it's the lack of sleep getting to me! Overall, Lorelei has been a great sleeper. She eats every 2-3 hours and has been spacing night time feedings out a bit more, although not consistently. A couple of nights she went 3.5-5 hours between the first and second feeding. I'm looking forward to these getting even more spaced out, so that I can get more sleep than 2-3 hours at a time.
Snow Fun
This past week Louisville experienced it's first snow storm of the season. We actually only got a few inches of snow but it was very pretty and is still sticking around. It has been really cold, so we haven't gotten to play in the snow for long, but we've gotten out in it a couple of times. One day I decided we would build a snowman, so I asked Julianne what we would need to make it. We went through the refrigerator and pantry finding things to make our snowman.
